Kingdom is proud to announce a UK contract award (including Belfast) with the world’s largest furniture retailer, IKEA, as their sole security supplier.
Kingdom has been providing security to some IKEA stores since 2010 alongside three other security companies and the new award includes 18 UK stores and two distribution centres.
The robust tender process included office visits, presentation, reference checks and financial & credit checks. Kingdom was very pleased to be informed by IKEA that their textbook set of accounts received the highest marks possible.
IKEA Relationship and Kingdom Director Mark Wallace said: “Kingdom is honoured and humbled to be awarded such a prestige contract and to be selected as the sole security supplier to IKEA in the UK. This is a unique security service, tailored specifically to match the IKEA environment and work ethos, and includes manned guarding teams, mobile patrol, key holding, customer service and reception teams as well as loss prevention and return on investment analysis. It is always fantastic to retain work but to enhance a partnership reflects on the special team we have built within Kingdom to service and support our customers.”
IKEA is a multinational group of companies that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, appliances and home accessories, and since January 2008 has been the world’s largest furniture retailer. The company was founded in Sweden in 1943 by the then 17-year-old Ingvar Kamprad, and the acronym IKEA stands for Ingvar Kamprad, Elmtaryd (the name of the farm where he grew up) Agunnardyd (his home town in south Sweden). IKEA now has 364 stores in 46 countries. Their vision is “to create a better everyday life for the many people”, and their business idea is “to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them”.
