Chris Lamb – England U20s – Welsh Athletics International

Kingdom are proud to announce that Chris Lamb, son of Kingdom’s own Paula Lamb, will be performing in the Welsh Athletics International as part of the England U20’s pole-vaulting team.

At only 19 years of age, Chris is ranked 4th in the country for the sport and has been given this opportunity to represent England in his first international competition.

Chris started pole-vaulting at the early age of 14 at Liverpool Harriers, and moved to Wigan Harriers a year later in search of a more specialised type of training for pole-vaulting. During these early years, Chris performed in multiple national competitions, and medalled at the UK School Games 2016, the English Schools Championships 2018, and Nationals 2019.

Chris has stated that “over the last couple of months, everything has started to come together, and all the hard work is finally starting to pay off. I have started to progress a lot faster, achieving 4 personal bests.” As a result of his hard work and dedication, he has become the North of England champion and achieved 3rd place at the England Championships. His performance has deservedly resulted in being chosen to represent England in this event.

The end goal of performing for Team GB is within reach for Chris, and every event, competition, and medal is one step closer to realising his dream.

We wish Chris the best of luck, both in the Welsh Athletics International and in the future!

Chris Lamb is currently campaigning to raise funds to purchase new poles that will see him improve his height and performance, which will help in his goal of performing for Team GB.
