Introducing Kingdom’s Facilities Management Director

Kingdom is pleased to introduce Jilly Smith, who recently joined the company as their new National Facilities Management Director.

In her new role, Jilly is responsible for installing national Facilities Management service excellence through robust and innovative systems, procedures and people, resulting in contract renewal and division growth.

In order to achieve service excellence, Jilly’s role will be to understand Kingdom’s business, their customers, processes and current service delivery. She will act as the division specialist, sharing knowledge and technical expertise in order to support customers and colleagues. She is pragmatic, professional, proactive and has a real passion for customer service, which ensures the delivery of exceptional standards.

Jilly is a member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) with a BIFM Level 4 Diploma in Facilities Management. She also has a National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), a Level 3 award from the Institute of Leadership and Management, and a qualification from the BSI (British Standards Institution) for the implementation and management of Integrated Management Systems.

Before joining Kingdom, Jilly spent 9 years as a Facilities Operations Manager, 5 years as an Operations Manager, 3 years as a Facilities Manager and 15 years as a Customer Service Manager. Her biggest challenge during her career has been managing, for the European Region, the acquisition of a large multinational firm from a real estate, FM and colleague perspective, which culminated in a well bonded, driven and inspired team who deliver excellent projects time and time again.

As the leader of a diverse and geographically spread team, Jilly leads from the front and by example whilst encouraging her team to develop their skills, and has a reputation for getting things done. She will be mentoring, motivating and inspiring her team to be competent, compliant, confident and empowered brand ambassadors, and will be responsible for their welfare, performance and personal development. She describes herself as a seasoned people manager and as being quick witted with a warm sense of humour. 

Outside of work, Jilly is a proud wife of her husband and soulmate Paul, mum of two adult girls, and a proud nanna to her gorgeous grandson, who she describes as the only person who can wrap her around his little finger! As well as spending time with her family, Jilly loves musical theatre, driving and long country walks with her two dogs. She describes her greatest life achievement as going from being homeless to being a homeowner in 15 years.
