Kingdom sponsoring junior football team for a fourth year

PHOTO-2018-06-26-22-00-56Kingdom is very pleased to announce that we are sponsoring a young football team for the fourth consecutive year, and are particularly proud to unveil their new kit, which Kingdom has once again paid for.

Kingdom has been sponsoring the Wilberfoss Mavericks since 2015 and has been supporting them since they were an U11 team. This year the team will be moving into the U14 category and we are very proud to have supported them over the last four years, to see them improve, develop and grow as young people, players and as a team, and to witness how much they have achieved year on year.

The team is managed by Kingdom’s Chief Operating Officer, Mark Wallace, who has been managing the team for six years now. Mark became a licensed football coach in 2014, and is licensed by The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club, FA Learning’s first ever coach licensing scheme.

New-Mavericks-BadgeThe Wilberfoss Mavericks Junior Football Club is a thriving community club supporting the enjoyment and development of boys and girls from the age of 4 and upwards. They train every Saturday morning.

As part of the sponsorship, Kingdom purchase the team’s kit, which displays our logo. This year’s kit (pictured above) is particularly special as it has been designed by Mark’s son, Fenn, with the team’s goalkeeper also designing his own kit. Everyone who has seen the pictures of the kit have commented on how fantastic it looks, how it presents a very modern and dynamic image, and we are very proud of the young players for having made use of this design talent as well as for their talent for football!

In addition to purchasing the kit, Kingdom has supported the team in numerous other ways over the last four years. Last year Kingdom sponsored their fundraising event, a Pig Racing Night in East Yorkshire. In 2016 we donated money to the team to help them complete a project during the school summer holidays, and in 2015 we arranged for them to attend a Wigan vs Leeds match at the DW Stadium in Wigan as VIP day guests.

WYZ-Logo_NEWAs well as being very important to Mark, this sponsorship is also incredibly important to Kingdom’s CEO, Terry Barton BA (Hons), who cares deeply about football as a lifelong Wigan FC fan. Terry firmly believes in investing in health and sports and putting back into local communities and grass roots football, or sports initiatives such as Wigan Youth Zone. Wigan Youth Zone is a once-in-a-lifetime project to turn around the opportunities and options available to young people. Wigan Youth Zone is celebrating its five-year anniversary this year, and Kingdom has been a major sponsor and supporter of Youth Zone for more than four of those years.
