Kingdom thanked for donation to local foodbank

St-Helens-logo-three-colour-e1507296558485Kingdom colleagues have once again been collecting items for a local food bank, this time for the St Helens Foodbank, near to Kingdom’s National Support Centre in Newton-le-Willows.

Following the donation, Kingdom received an email from the Reverend Helen Coffey of Holy Trinity, Downall Green and St Andrew’s, Garswood, saying:

Thank you so much for the generous donation of tins and packets for our local foodbank that John Shirley dropped off last week.

We're a small foodbank serving an area of relatively high deprivation with a number of families experiencing food and fuel poverty.  I'm sure we all wish foodbanks were not a feature of life our country in the 21st century, but the sad truth is that without them, some members of our community would go hungry in silence.

Please pass on our thanks to all your employees for their generous donation.

God bless.

Helen

They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, that work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Last year they gave 6,371 three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis. The foodbank is run in partnership with St Helens churches, St Helens Hope Centre and the Trussell Trust.
