Kingdom Strand team rewarded for actions

Award 2Kingdom’s security team at 80 Strand in London have been presented with an award for the way they handled a situation at the end of last year.

Kingdom have been providing a wide range of security services to 80 Strand for a number of years, including security patrols, reception and concierge services, manning the loading bay, access control, manning the control room and providing CCTV services.

On the 1st November 2017 people started running down Carting Lane from the Strand at approximately 5.20pm. Some of them entered the garage of the building as the shutter was open in order to allow a vehicle to leave. They came in to take shelter, informing the Kingdom team that there had been a shooting incident on the Strand, and that they believed that a terrorist attack was under way.

Kingdom’s team quickly assessed the situation and the CCTV cameras, and decided to put the whole building into lockdown. Later, the Metropolitan Police informed our team that a vehicle had driven into pedestrians on Southampton Street, as reported here in The Independent, and that it was not related to any acts of terrorism.

The tenants of 80 Strand subsequently praised the way that the Kingdom team handled the situation, saying that they felt that were in a safe building in the event of anything happening, which is exactly the feeling of security that we aspire to create.

The team were therefore presented with an award from Kingdom for their actions, which was presented to them by Kingdom’s CEO, Terry Barton (pictured third from the right) who paid a visit to the client site, and by Kingdom’s Operations Director South, Breda Smead (pictured on the right).
