Kingdom wins major new guarding contract in India

synthite-1-638Kingdom is very pleased to have gained another new client in India and thus continues to expand on the Indian subcontinent.

Kingdom is now providing security guarding for Synthite Industries Ltd, the world’s largest producer of value added spices and oleoresin.

Synthite processes raw spices at their state-of the-art plants and labs. When extracting the oleoresins, Synthite ensures that they retain all the original characteristics such as the flavour, colour and taste of the starting natural raw material. Some of these value-added products are unique which is why Synthite is the global leader in this line of business.

The company is based in Kochi in the southern Indian state of Kerala, and supplies ingredients to many major food, fragrance and flavour companies. Some of its major clients include Nestle, Bacardi and Pepsi.

As well as producing oleoresin spices, the company also produces essential oils, food colours, and sprayed products. It also has products that are organic and fair-trade. They are a leading force in a variety of botanical extracts such as tea, coffee, vanilla and lutein. The company also has investments in realty and hospitality.

Synthite Industries was established in 1972 by C.V. Jacob, who had spent the previous two decades working in civil construction. Initially the company had 20 employees and produced industrial chemicals before it started extracting oleoresin. They started manufacturing oleoresin black pepper, and over the last forty years have grown to become the leader in the manufacturing of all oleoresin spices. By 2008 the company had grown to 1,200 employees and had 30% of the world’s market share. They reached 2,000 employees by 2012. It was only in 2014 that the company started selling directly to consumers in its native India. The company is now run by Viju Jacob, son of the founder C.V. Jacob.

Their bio ingredients division currently has 10 manufacturing plants, three of which are in Kerala. Major spices like chilli, turmeric, pepper, and cardamom are processed in dedicated plants, whereas other spices like nutmeg, ginger, mace, coriander, cumin, fennel, fenugreek and celery can be produced at any of the plants available, based on the quantity required.

Kingdom has had a presence in India since May 2016, when we announced that we would now be able to support our UK customers that also need security services on the Indian sub continent. Kingdom took over an Indian security company based in Kochi in the southern state of Kerala, and announced that the new initiative would act as a launch pad for pan India and Middle East operations in the future.

As well as providing a guarding service and specialised and customised security solutions, Kingdom is aiming to help the uneducated sector to develop their hidden skills and secure their lives by providing job opportunities across Kerala. We are planning to utilise the Kerala government’s skill development programme in the security sector.
