Kingdom officers praised at university graduation ceremonies

clip_image002Kingdom’s security officers have been praised for the role that they played at the recent graduation ceremonies for students of the University of South Wales.

Over the last two weeks, Kingdom’s security team has been providing security at their client’s graduation ceremonies in addition to the everyday service that they already provide for the university.

Kingdom’s teams provided security for over 15 ceremonies across three different locations in Newport, Cardiff and Pontypridd. Their roles included providing extra security on the car parks and entrance locations, CCTV operations, security patrols and acting as a face to face point of contact for graduates and their families on their special day.

Kingdom brought in extra security personnel from other Kingdom contracts in the south Wales area, and the team was supported by Mark P Wallace (Kingdom’s business manager for the site), Andrew van Vuuren (Kingdom’s Midlands Regional Manager), and Kingdom’s Business Manager Adam Cooper.

We’re pleased to report that all of the graduation ceremonies passed without incident, and that the extra security presence was happily accepted by all those attending.

Following the ceremonies, the University’s Estates Security Management team emailed to say:

“From the Estates Security Management Team, can you please pass on our thanks to the security teams that worked on the graduation awards.

The awards this year were challenging for security with the increased security measures and new location in Newport. On all days across all campuses the security teams worked hard and represented Kingdom well.

There were initial concerns with the amount of new officers on the contract that had not worked the awards before and that would of struggled on the day. This was not the case and everyone, even the new officers performed very well.

Once again please pass on our thanks to all involved.”

clip_image006Kingdom started providing security services to the University of South Wales in February 2017. Kingdom’s day to day role includes providing security guarding, car park management, operating the control room and student protection.

The University of South Wales (USW) is one of the UK’s ten biggest campus universities by student numbers, with over 30,000 students. It was voted as one of the top 10 universities in the UK by its students – coming eight at the WhatUni? Student Choice Awards 2016.

Kingdom has a dedicated education security team which has extensive experience and an in-depth understanding to meet the special demands of the education sector. They safeguard people, facilities and reputations, providing a safe place to both learn and teach. They protect students, staff, property, equipment and possessions.
