Kingdom’s Steve Foster rewarded for commitment

We’re delighted to report that Kingdom’s Discipline and Grievance Manager has been presented with a CEO Award for his commitment to the company, and are even more pleased to use this as an opportunity to celebrate the huge contribution that he has made to Kingdom over more than twenty years.

Steve Foster has been with Kingdom since the company was founded by Kingdom’s CEO Terry Barton BA (Hons) back in 1993, and so he has now been with the company for over 23 years.

He originally joined the company from a service background where he handled customer complaints. Since then, as well as gaining 23 years worth of on-the-job security experience, he has worked in every department at Kingdom during his time here.

Having therefore experienced the business from all angles, Steve is well placed to understand any problems experienced and how it affects the business from start to finish. Steve’s long service with Kingdom ensures that he is fully conversant with the “Kingdom Way”, including its brand, procedures and personnel, meaning he is perfectly suited to his role as Discipline and Grievance Manager and to his previous role as HR Team Manager.

In recognition of Steve’s service, he received a letter from Kingdom’s Colleague Welfare Manager, Jenny Cook, which said:

“It is with great pleasure that I write to you with a letter of commendation.

“You have been recognised for your work at Kingdom over the past 23 years. You have shown commitment and dedication and have had an impact on the growth and expansion of the company. You are a credit to Kingdom Services Group.


“To receive a commendation due to outstanding work, setting high professional standards, as you have done is both positive for not only yourself but also for our company.  We would like to thank you for your ongoing commitment and congratulate you for your hard work.


“As gratitude for your dedication to the company, I would like to offer you a Harry Potter Red Letter Day and an extra day’s holiday will be added to your annual entitlement.”


Steve was presented with his award by Kingdom’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mark Wallace (pictured above).

Steve’s role as Discipline and Grievance Manager means that he manages Kingdom’s discipline and grievance process nationally. Previously as HR Team Manager his role was to direct, lead and support Kingdom’s national HR team of brand ambassadors, ensuring that they remained compliant, confident, empowered and confident to take ownership and provide service excellence. He worked with Kingdom’s customers to ensure that the colleagues the company places with them were right for their business, and he had a particular focus on colleague welfare and making sure that colleagues were happy.

The core responsibilities of Steve’s role include handling discipline issues and grievance issues. During his time at Kingdom he has been responsible for staff welfare, staff commendations, staff benefits and absence management, which includes sickness and paternity/maternity leave. He has also overseen the huge TUPE transfers during acquisitions. In addition to his role, Steve is also First Aid Qualified, and is an experienced British Standards Internal Auditor, with full knowledge and experience of procedures. Outside of work, Steve is a season ticket holder for St Helens RLFC and enjoys going to their matches. He is married with two boys, and loves spending time with his family.
