Kingdom expands contract with leading retail charity

Kingdom is very pleased to have been chosen to provide more security services to one of their existing clients, the retailTRUST. Kingdom started providing services to this client last year, and has been awarded the new contract following a very successful first few months working with them.

The retailTRUST is the leading charity supporting everyone in retail. They help to improve the lives of current and ex employees who work in retail, its supporting services and related industries – around 4.5 million people in total.

The charity aims to improve wellbeing by offering financial, emotional and vocational help and support, delivering a helping hand and support in times of need and crisis. They aim to be caring, innovating and trusted and help those who previously worked in retail, those who are currently employed in retail and those are developing their future in retail – or as they put it, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Their patron is Her Majesty The Queen, who has been Patron of the retailTRUST since 1948 when she was still Princess Elizabeth.

They offer a wide range of services including debt advice, counselling, hardship grants, career development and retirement housing through their retailHUB, retailRIGHT, retailCURE and cottageHOMES schemes.

CottageHOMES provides 5 retirement estates in the UK in London, Derby, Glasgow, Liverpool and Salford. These offer a variety of sheltered and extra care accommodation. Kingdom started providing security services to one of these estates last year, providing manned guarding to the Crookfur Estate in Glasgow, helping to keep it safe, secure and supported.

They have now been awarded the contract to provide security services to another of the estates, this time in Liverpool. Moores House, Liverpool, was opened in 2001 from funding provided by the Moores family and is set in landscaped gardens. The award-winning estate is situated close to the historic St Mary’s on the Hill Church in Walton Village, and offers peaceful surroundings with a real community feeling.

The estate contains 39 one bedroom flats and 5 two bedroom flats which are suitable for single people or couples. They provide sheltered accommodation and support that is tailor-made so that each resident can maintain a lifestyle that is as independent as possible, with on-site staff to provide advice and assistance. Kingdom is providing manned guarding for night shift cover on both of these estates. This includes carrying out safety checks of all buildings and access routes, monitoring and assessing all visitors, responding to any fire alarms, contacting the emergency services, contacting the management in the event of an emergency, accepting calls from Tele Care, allowing the emergency services access and escorting them whilst they are on the estate, completing a daily handover sheet and reporting any overnight incidents.

Kingdom is a national security supplier with over 20 year’s industry experience. They specialise in risk, loss and the protection of property, people and brand. One of the largest privately owned security companies in the country, they have regional offices spread evenly across the UK and utilise the best technology.
