Kingdom officer to receive top police award

Kingdom officer Grzegorz (Greg) Stalmach is to receive an award – the London Borough of Hillingdon Borough Commanders Award - at this year’s Hillingdon Borough Commander’s Commendation Ceremony.

The event will be held on Monday 24th April 2017 and is described as “a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success of the borough police officers and staff, along with formerly recognising significant contributions from both members of the public and colleagues from partner agencies.” Greg will receive the award from Colin Wingrove, the Borough Commander of Hillingdon Borough.

The award is in recognition of Greg’s actions and assistance towards a female near the Hillingdon Civic Centre.

In January 2016 Greg was working in the CCTV Control Room at Hillingdon Council when he effectively prevented a serious assault using a combination of his local knowledge, CCTV Systems, effective communication and physical fitness. Greg’s actions provided the police with a description of the offender, and along with CCTV footage which further supported the verbal statements, were sufficient to enable a successful arrest. The offender pleaded not guilty and after a lengthy trial, in which Greg provided compelling evidence, the offender was found guilty and sentenced to 46 months imprisonment. He is to be deported after he serves his sentence. After the trail the judge commented on the bravery and professionalism shown throughout the process by Greg.

Greg has previously been recognised by the Mayor of the Borough, by Kingdom and was also awarded an ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Award in May 2016 and received a Metropolitan Police Service CCT Award in July 2016. Kingdom is delighted that Greg is once again being recognised for his brave actions whilst on duty, and is looking forward to attending the event in April along with Greg.
