Kingdom’s accreditation with the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) has been renewed for another year until September 2017, proving that Kingdom has demonstrated compliance with and shown sound management of current basic health and safety legislation.
CHAS is both the largest and the fastest growing health and safety assessment scheme in the UK. It is available to suppliers (those who provide goods and services) and to organisations (buyers) looking for suitably competent suppliers. They have over 720 buyer members (such as councils, housing associations, NHS trusts and large private companies) and over 62,000 suppliers on their database and are now established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK.
CHAS is a founder member and past Chair of Safety Schemes in Procurement – Competence Forum or SSIP. It has two main aims:
- To improve health and safety standards across Great Britain
- To reduce duplicated safety applications for both suppliers and buyers
Kingdom is a supplier that has been accredited by CHAS. Because of this, buyers who also participate in the scheme can be sure that Kingdom meets their health and safety standards. This brings huge benefits to buyer (our potential clients) as they do not have to spend time and resources assessing our health and safety competence, thus reducing duplication, giving reassurance, and saving time and effort, as suppliers’ compliance is accepted by all CHAS buyers.
In order to have accreditation renewed, CHAS assessed Kingdom’s health and safety policy statement, the organisation’s health and safety, and their specific health and safety arrangements to ensure they met a standard acceptable to buyers and to others.
