Kingdom is very pleased to announce that they have had their membership of ACS Pacesetters renewed for another year, from 1st September 2016 until 31st August 2017.
ACS Pacesetters says of their members that “these companies, both national and regional, have proved they are market leaders in the security guarding industry and are therefore capable of providing an excellent standard of service to their clients and a high degree of care for their employees.”
Membership of ACS Pacesetters is restricted to the top 15% of SIA approved security companies; currently meaning that membership is limited to approximately 120 companies nationwide.
ACS is the Security Industry Authority’s (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme. The SIA is the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry. The Approved Contractor Scheme was established by the SIA to form a set of operational and performance standards for security companies. The objective of the Approved Contractor Scheme, according to their website, is to “raise performance standards and to assist the private security industry in developing new opportunities.” It gives organisations the opportunity to distinguish themselves as being among the best providers of private security services in the UK.
To be accredited under the Approved Contractor Scheme, security companies must voluntarily submit themselves for annual inspection by one of five UKAS inspection bodies appointed by the SIA to carry out the task. They are then assessed and given a score. They must achieve a score of at least zero (which is considered to be a satisfactory score) to receive ACS accreditation.
However, there are currently over 800 contract security guarding companies that have achieved ACS accreditation, making it very difficult for the buyers of security services to differentiate between them. This is why ACS Pacesetters is so important. All current members of ACS Pacesetters achieved a score of at least +128 during their most recent annual inspection. Following Kingdom’s most recent inspection they were awarded an incredible score of +167. This was an increase on their record score of +161 the previous year, and easily placed them in an elite group of the top 5% of ACS security companies in the United Kingdom. The maximum overall score that can be achieved is currently 174, so Kingdom’s score was right at the very top.
