Kingdom is very proud to announce that one of their officers, Grzegorz (Greg) Stalmach, has won a Metropolitan Police Service CCTV Award. Greg won the award for Best CCTV Operator in the Metropolitan Police area.
In January this year Greg was working in the CCTV Control Room at Hillingdon Council when he effectively prevented a serious sexual assault and robbery using a combination of his local knowledge, CCTV Systems, effective communication and physical fitness. Greg’s actions provided the police with a description of the offender, and along with CCTV footage which further supported the verbal statements, were sufficient to enable a successful arrest. The offender pleaded not guilty and after a lengthy trial, in which Greg provided compelling evidence, the offender was found guilty and sentenced to 46 months imprisonment. He is to be deported after he serves his sentence. After the trail the judge commented on the bravery and professionalism shown throughout the process by Greg.
Greg was presented with the award at the Metropolitan Police CCTV Award Ceremony on Friday 15th July 2016 at the iconic New Scotland Yard. Greg received the last ever award to be presented there, as the building has been sold and the Metropolitan Police Service are vacating. The Master of Ceremony, Detective Chief Inspector Mick Neville stated that the bravery and professionalism exhibited by Greg was a testament to the security service as a whole.
Greg was also previously awarded with an ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Award. He was one of only 13 award winners from across the whole of the UK, and was presented with this award at the third ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Awards Lunch at the Royal Windsor Racecourse on 24th May 2016. Greg is also to receive a Borough Commander’s commendation for his actions.
