It was hosted by Cranswick Country Foods, based in Preston, Hull, who area also located in Watton, Norfolk and Albert Wright Dock, Hull.

Cranswick invited people to enter teams of four to play on the day, with a cost of £1,000 per team. Kingdom entered a team to support the event consisting of Kingdom Director Mark Wallace, Kingdom’s Finance Director Nigel Whittle, Culina Logistics Commercial Director Dave Lowe, and Grantfen Sales Manager (Kingdom’s 3rd party partner for security technology solutions) Dave Johnson. Kingdom’s Relationship Director Barry Graham explains what happened:
“After a rain sodden day which was relentless for the entire round (lots of groups stopped playing due to the weather) the “Kingdom Warriors of Golf” prevailed and came in a narrow second place, which was a great effort considering the conditions and also the liability that was Mark Wallace!”
Following the golf there was a three course dinner, prize giving and an auction. The event was a fantastic success, raising a grand total of £58,578 for the KIDS charity. KIDS works with disabled children, young people and their families. They care for over 8,000 disabled children, young people and their families every year by delivering around 140 services across England.
Cranswick in Preston decided to adopt KIDS as the charity they give their primary support to back in 2007. Although it is a national charity, Cranswick’s fundraising is specifically to support the Hull branch. This was the fifth time that Cranswick had held a charity golf day to raise money for KIDS, having previously held similar events in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.
