Kingdom supports client’s charity golf day

clip_image002Kingdom was delighted to support one of their clients recently by taking part in their bi-annual charity golf day.

The Cranswick Country Foods Charity Golf Day was held at the Forest Pines Golf and Country Club in Scunthorpe on Wednesday 18th May 2016. The event was organised to raise funds for the children’s charity KIDS. It was hosted by Cranswick Country Foods, based in Preston, Hull, who area also located in Watton, Norfolk and Albert Wright Dock, Hull.

Cranswick Country Foods is part of the Cranswick Group. Kingdom is the sole supplier of security services for the Cranswick Group who have 15 different premises in the UK, ranging from as far south as Milton Keynes to as far north as Malton in North Yorkshire.

Cranswick is one of the largest food producers in Britain and a leading and innovative British supplier of premium, fresh and added-value food products spanning retail shelves and restaurant menus across the country and internationally. Their products include fresh pork, gourmet sausages, bacon and gammon, cooked meats, continental fine foods, handmade pastries, sandwiches, British charcuterie and premium chicken and poultry. Cranswick invited people to enter teams of four to play on the day, with a cost of £1,000 per team. Kingdom entered a team to support the event consisting of Kingdom Director Mark Wallace, Kingdom’s Finance Director Nigel Whittle, Culina Logistics Commercial Director Dave Lowe, and Grantfen Sales Manager (Kingdom’s 3rd party partner for security technology solutions) Dave Johnson. Kingdom’s Relationship Director Barry Graham explains what happened:

“After a rain sodden day which was relentless for the entire round (lots of groups stopped playing due to the weather) the “Kingdom Warriors of Golf” prevailed and came in a narrow second place, which was a great effort considering the conditions and also the liability that was Mark Wallace!”

Following the golf there was a three course dinner, prize giving and an auction. The event was a fantastic success, raising a grand total of £58,578 for the KIDS charity. KIDS works with disabled children, young people and their families. They care for over 8,000 disabled children, young people and their families every year by delivering around 140 services across England.

Cranswick in Preston decided to adopt KIDS as the charity they give their primary support to back in 2007. Although it is a national charity, Cranswick’s fundraising is specifically to support the Hull branch. This was the fifth time that Cranswick had held a charity golf day to raise money for KIDS, having previously held similar events in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.
