Alan Smith, an associate partner of Kingdom, has been praised by Warwickshire College Group for the way he quoted for and then carried out a security risk review of five of their colleges recently on behalf of Kingdom.
Helen Kinghorn, the Group Vice Principal, and Gary Stanton, the Estates Operations Manager at Warwickshire College Group, wrote to Kingdom saying:
“Warwickshire College Group has a continual proactive approach, as part of its self-improvement plan, regarding the ongoing security environment throughout its entire estate. As part of this process, five colleges were selected to have a security risk review conducted on them, with Kingdom Security Ltd requested to provide a quotation for the review project.
“As a result of the enquiry, Alan Smith, a security risk specialist who is an associate partner of Kingdom, contacted Warwickshire College Group and a meeting was arranged to discuss the project. Alan insisted he was not willing to provide a costing over the telephone until he fully understood all the requirements involved for each college. At the first meeting, the scope of works was deliberated and a raft of practical, valuable information was exchanged with it being obvious that Alan had many years of industry experience from which the colleges could benefit. It was agreed at the meeting’s conclusion, that Alan would supply a quotation and, if successful, a second meeting would follow to discuss the project plan.
“Kingdom Security’s quotation was successful, and a second appointment was arranged with Alan to meet with Helen and Gary. A project plan was formulated, giving five specific dates for the surveys to be carried out. During the survey process, Alan met with the student body representatives, along with management staff at each college. He also had two additional meetings, the first being with the senior leadership team to outline preliminary findings of the first three colleges surveyed and a second meeting with the Security steering committee providing a debrief of the overall situation.
“Alan has a wealth of knowledge, and this clearly shows in the way in which he performs due diligence and communicates with people. His methodical report writing, which was forensically detailed for each college, clarified for us those areas that required immediate vital attention, and those elements that could be reviewed over time to provide us with relieved cost savings. Alan also proved meticulous in keeping to the agreed time scales for the project work to be conducted. On completion of the review, Alan delivered a final presentation going through fully each of the report’s contents in detail so we had an opportunity for further questions or clarification.
“As a result of the work carried out by Alan, and what we appreciated most, was his ability to focus our attention on all aspects of the self-improvement plan for each of the estates. We cannot recommend him highly enough; he provided an excellent service within the specified time, within the agreed financial arrangements and delivered meticulous risk reviews.”
