Kingdom was very pleased to sponsor a charity golf tournament on Thursday 10th September that was organised to raise funds for the SSAFA – the UK’s oldest national military charity.
The golf tournament was the SSAFA Annual Golf Day. It was organised by Terry Smith, a retired Detective Superintendent from Greater Manchester Police and was held at Gathurst Golf Club on Miles Lane in Shevington, Wigan. Open to all, it cost £40 per player to enter (£160 for a team of four), and included tea and coffee on arrival and a two course meal after play. There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd team winners. Kingdom sponsored a hole in support of this worthy cause, and all funds raised at the event went to SSAFA.
Founded in 1885, SSAFA was formerly known as Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association. It is a British-based charity that offers lifelong help and support to all serving members and former members of all ranks of the UK British Armed Forces and their families or dependents.
